We’re delighted to announce the launch of the official Blockbuster UK iPhone app, giving you access to over 70,000 movies and games via blockbuster.co.uk or your local Blockbuster High Street store. The app is completely FREE to download, it’s great for both online and store customers. If you’re an online subscriber you can do things like browse the catalogue, add to list, watch trailers and edit your list. If you’re a store customer, in addition to browsing the catalogue, you can also reserve titles to rent in your local Blockbuster store, check on whether your store has a title to rent or buy, access vouchers that can be scanned off the iPhone and access the latest Blockbuster Facebook, Twitter and Blog posts.
From your store or to your door, this FREE app is like having Britain’s BIGGEST Blockbuster Store available at your fingertips at all times.

* Reserve titles to collect in your local Blockbuster store with Click & Collect.
* Link up your account with blockbuster.co.uk to access your Blockbuster Rewards(R) vouchers to use in-store.
* Connect to your online rental list (online subscribers only) – you can update your list on the go, any changes will be uploaded to your online list remotely.

It’s taken a while to get to this place – as you know.
We’ve got a programme of new things that we’ll be able to talk about soon. Which include updates and expansion of the app.
However, I think it does exactly what it says on the tin and on the whole works well.

I was looking forward to this app, but unfortunately I’m experiencing a lot of crashes when I try to use it.

There was a problem with the My Blockbuster option – actually due to an issue with the blog. Appreciate your patience. This should be fixed right now.
We also have a small update going live tomorrow. This will clean up a couple of things, and add in a New to Blu-ray section for people who just want to see Blu-ray.
